Hidden amongst the beautiful houses is a selection of shops, pubs and tearooms whilst the nearby market town of Pickering offers a further range of essential services as well as the North York Moors Steam Railway. The Forestry Commission woodland at Dalby is worth a visit and has several excellent nature trails to be enjoyed whilst slightly further away is the historic cathedral city of York with its huge range of shops, cinemas and museums.
