Dairy House

The unspoiled village of Newton upon Rawcliffe is on the southern fringe of the North York Moors National Park and is a typical English village, with old stone cottages and farms clustered around the village green and duck pond. The area has an abundance of wildlife and the countryside is varied and offers wonderful walking and touring opportunities. Amongst the many attractions in the area are the majestic abbeys of Byland and Rievaulx, the town of York and the magnificent Castle Howard. The nearby historic market town of Pickering is home to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Englands longest steam railway, and has a variety of shops, art galleries and eateries. With its many activities and attractions, this is a fabulous area for a family holiday.

This property is a spacious stone cottage restored and finished to a high standard and offering comfortable accommodation for up to six people.

This spacious, converted dairy is full of character and history, with fifteen massive timbers that may have come from oaks in Newtondale or possibly from ships that had been broken up in Whitby. Before becoming a dairy, the property housed a horse driven threshing machine. The entrance hall can be accessed by a ramp and the magnificent galleried sitting room has a large fireplace, wood burner and oak beams making the room warm and enticing. The farmhouse style kitchen and dining room is a delight and there are three spacious and beautifully appointed bedrooms, offering versatile sleeping arrangements. There is a spacious family bathroom and additional shower room, whilst outside there is a mature garden with furniture. This property makes a fabulous base for a family holiday.

Oil central heating & hot water, logburning stove. Electric cooker, fridge/freezer, 32 inch screen colour TV, CD/DVD player, stereo. Fuel & one basket of logs inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Travel cot & highchair. Off-road parking for 2 cars. Drying/laundry room. Garden with furniture. 1 adult well behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking.
