Blacksmiths Cottage
Blacksmiths cottage offers a cosy holiday base in the attractive village of Gillamoor on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors.
The cottage has been carefully and sympathetically converted retaining all its charm and character with its original oak beam structure and superb blacksmiths forge fireplace.
All on ground floor level, Blacksmiths cottage is comfortable and welcoming at any time of the year. The cottage is well equipped and tastefully decorated throughout.
During the winter months, real log fires can be enjoyed in the beautiful old forge fireplace.
The small, unspoilt farming village of Gillamoor is famous for its ‘Surprise View’ that reveals a breathtaking panorama across Douthwaite Dale to the moors above Farndale and Hutton le Hole. With such spectacular scenery on the doorstep Blacksmiths Cottage is a superb base for walking, touring and relaxing.
In this area walks are in abundance, many starting from the cottage door.
Rievaulx Abbey, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard are just some of the visitor attractions within easy reach of the cottage and, of course, the dramatic North Yorkshire Heritage coast with its quaint fishing villages and the historic port town of Whitby are all a short drive away.
The village Inn serving good food is just a two minute stroll from the cottage and another good food Inn lies within a mile of Gillamoor, in the neighbouring village of Fadmoor. The market town of Kirkbymoorside offering everyday shopping, pubs and restaurants is only 3 miles away.
So for an ideal base to walk, tour and relax, look no further than Blacksmiths Cottage.
