Bishop Cottage

The former fishing village of Skinningrove sits on the Cleveland Way, and visitors will find an assortment of engaging cottages and houses plus a variety of shops within its boundaries. It has a sandy beach ideal for children and families, and the area is excellent for fossil hunting amongst the rocks on the foreshore. Skinningrove was also part of the Ironstone mining industry and there is a museum in the area that charts its industrial history. Saltburn is six miles away and has kept much of its Victorian heritage, including the oldest water balanced cliff tramway in Britain, well worth a visit. Skinningrove is an ideal place base to discover the wonderful moorland scenery and the many coastal towns and villages in the area, making it a great holiday base.

This charming, brick-built single storey terraced cottage is set in a peaceful location and sleeps up to three people in comfort.

This single storey terraced cottage enjoys a courtyard setting, and is on the site of the stables that housed the pit ponies who used to work the mine in the village. The property has been thoughtfully designed to offer comfortable accommodation. There is a spacious double bedroom, which has been simply but tastefully decorated and furnished. The kitchen is compact and equipped with all mod cons, and there is also a modern shower room. The sitting room is cosy and inviting with bright and cheery decoration and the dining area is located within this space, making intimate meals cosy and inviting. Outside there is a shared garden area with furniture and a barbecue. This property is well placed as a peaceful holiday retreat from which to explore this rich and diverse area.
