Whatever the time of year you will be impressed with the spectacular scenery and the peace and quiet. Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty it is an ideal venue to escape from the every day pressures of life, relax and enjoy the warmest of welcomes, excellent catering and a real gem of a course.
Naturally the members would think this, but we are especially pleased to include a testimonial from a recently retired member of the Seniors PGA following a distinguished amateur and professional career, Martin F Foster, Former British Boys, English Boys and Yorkshire Youths Amateur Champion. Full England International.
“After forty years of golf at a reasonably high standard my experience of golf courses is vast and I am not easily impressed. But Kirkbymoorside is a “gem”, an excellent layout using wooded valleys on several of the holes and well sited greens with slopes to test the careless.
The 12th and 13th holes are a treat and a distraction to the game as the views over the Tabular Hills to the North Yorkshire Moors are most excellent. The last few holes give lovely glimpses over the Vale of Pickering to the Howardian Hills.
I blame Kirkbymoorside and its’ members for rekindling my interest in golf and I am playing and practicing every day to represent the club at both the Seniors P.G.A. played at Slaley Hall and the Seniors Open at Sunningdale this year.
All because Kirkby’s such a lovely place to play golf”
The course is a challenging 6,200 yards (5,400 yards for the ladies) set in picturesque, peaceful surrounding on the edge of The North York Moors National Park with views looking out over the NY Moors, The Yorkshire Wolds and The Hambleton Hills. With eight par 4s over 400 yards (5 from the yellow tees) the course provides players of all levels of ability with a real test of their golfing skills.
If you want to test your golf on a gem of a course in the peace and tranquillity of superb countryside then you can do no better than enjoy the hospitality offered at Kirkbymoorside Golf Club.
