The George and Dragon Hotel is a very unique place, created by combining the original 17th Century Coaching Inn with the adjoining rectory and Cornmill to make a 20 bed roomed hotel of real charm, a haven of hospitality in the sleepy market town of Kirkbymoorside.
The George & Dragon Hotel is both family owned and run. This is evident from the enthusiasm that prevails and commitment to our motto '.....a heritage of hospitality'. At first glance you could be forgiven for thinking that it is just another attractive pub set on the square of a typical Yorkshire Market town, but once inside you will be pleasantly surprised.
Closer investigation reveals that twenty delightful hotel bedrooms are some of the finest in Kirkbymoorside. They are to be found in two buildings to the rear of the old inn. The first, across the courtyard, was converted from the old corn mill; whilst the second, reached through the lovely garden, was the old rectory it’s rather more than your average B & B.
The hotel rooms are individually styled each with a cosy feel. We boast a fine selection of accommodation for anyone visiting North Yorkshire; standard doubles, twins & family rooms and a selection of superior rooms & suites. You will find quality furniture, modern bathrooms and remote control colour television, hospitality tray, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and clock radio. We also have a private car park at the rear of the hotel. Our two suites are particularly spacious one has a grandiose oak four-poster bed the other a 5ft. wrought iron bedstead.
We offer our Bed and Breakfast services all year round and frequented by those from all walks of life who are often found making new friends in our friendly fire warmed bar. Those who haven’t got time to chat but need to do some work are also welcome in our comfortable residents lounge or bar where they can enjoy free wireless internet.
As long as your pet is well behaved and kept under control at all times we are happy to have your pet stay too. Pets are not allowed in any public areas.
